 Phils Lose World Series 4-2
« Thread Started on Nov 5, 2009, 4:11am »

Let me say that it was clear from Game Two on that the Yanks were simply the better team. They came at us with so many bats. You sit there and say if we can only get by Arod and then see Tex. Whew...we got by Arod and Tex and then see Swisher or Matsui with a huge hit. So congrats to our Yankee fans on their 27th title.

The Phils meanwhile could have played MUCH better. Rollins and Howard disappeared. Two huge holes in our lineup. Hamels and Lidge need to right their game. We need our bullpen healthy again. Romero, Eyre, and Myers all are scheduled for surgery and hopefully they go well. They were all big in our victory two years ago. Even Ibanez has surgery likely.

We have some key signings to make. We should lock Lee up longterm in the offseason. We have only one key FA in Victorino and he has earned returning depending on salary demands.

We have some youth that needs to be looked at. If we let Victorino go is Brown ready in the minors? Can Happ take the next step who was candidate for ROY honors? Is top prospect Drabek ready for a look in the pros? Yet if Hamels returns to form, then what a 1-2 punch Lee and Hamels will make! Our bats except Ibanez are still in their prime.

We will be back!

Congrats again to our Yankee fans and to the Yanks. They were clearly the better team....this time.
